Screenprinting A3 limited edition of 60 Frauen am Berg, the Woman in the mountain. Drawing I did for the exhibition with Nina Barretmemy at bBba.gallery beginning of 2019 / It’s about a place in Portugal I lived, “casa senhora do monte” but also about all the baggage we carry on our backs, sometimes material but often emotional. The stuff we carry can be lies we get attached to, even describe ourselves with, get comfortable and build a house in which we live. Climbing mountains with such a weight is difficult. Especially mountains we created ourselves out of problems and issues. Sometimes we might feel even like carrying the weight of the world on our shoulders, in those overwhelming times. But change and collective healing aren’t about fighting ourselves. So if we drop off some unnecessary materials on the way up, you might grow big and strong and build a house that is made of light empty spaces, to fill with dreams or positive attitudes.
